Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)

I will not know anyone and have never been to church before.

That is OK. All of us have experienced this feeling doing something new, especially visiting where there are lots of people and you are not sure what to do. Valley is a friendly place and we really look forward to making you feel comfortable. We have greeters and ushers inside the front doors. They will be glad to help you.

What happens in a church service?

Our worship consists of prayer, singing of hymns and other music which glorifies God, personal meditation, giving of tithes, and hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with teaching from the inerrent Word of God, the Bible. Worship is designed to honor and glorify a Holy God.

What should I wear?

Dress styles and standards vary widely and depend on many factors. Dressing in a respectful style that will not be distracting to others will make you comfortable. In general, those who attend Valley dress in every style from business casual to coat and tie.

Where do I park?

Please park where you like in our lot. Handicap spaces are in front of the building.

Where do my kids go?

Valley offers pre-school nursery during both services. The later service offers a young persons Churchtime during the last half of the service. Children who are in first grade and younger are dismissed for Churchtime at the appropriate time.

When are services?

There are two traditional worship services on Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. Sunday School starts at 9:40 a.m. following the first service. Please check the calendar for changes in service times during the holidays.

Is there a special place to sit?

No. Please feel free to sit where you are most comfortable with respect to those already seated. Please feel free to ask an usher for assistance. They will be glad to help you.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. We believe  "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV

I have hearing and/or visual problems?

Please let our ushers know whatever your need is. They can help you with the best place to sit to accommodate your needs.
